Veil Collection by Angelo Seminara

My favorite stylist, produces the best work ever! Another collection of his to show you..

Excerpt from HJ.co.uk

‘Angelo Seminara has won HJ’s British Hairdresser of the Year on three separate occasions, earning worldwide fame for his breathtaking imagery and intricate colour work in the process. The Italian-born super stylist started his career at Trevor Sorbie, where he spent 16 years honing his skills. He continues to work on catwalk shoots and editorial campaigns across the globe, as well as creating imagery and developing products in his role as artistic director for Davines.

“Veils arouse curiosity while the wearer keeps her distance. Witness these striking veils of hair – dressed, cut and coloured into astonishing textures, forms and shapes. They act to attract while keeping arousal in check.”’’

Dekko’s Daily Grind ~ Emily

Sweet Emily has been a client of Dekko’s/mine since she was in her teens, back then she had long crazy thick hair that hung down her back. During the past 10 years, we’ve been changing her up with different looks, long layers, rocker layers, all types of fringes and lots of fun stuff with colors too.

This hairstyle was by far the most drastic change Emily had, we decided to go with a very loose razored organic look, working with the movement that was already in her hair. The haircut was done quite freely, and kept very unstructured, working the shape n  as the hair was drying. What we ended up with was this cute flippy textured asymmetrical look that needed no work put into it.

Here’s a picture of Emily before the haircut:

Thanks Emily for posing for us, we had fun.

Dekko’s Daily Grind ~ Meng

Some lovely curly hairstyles going on in Dekko Salon. Showcasing some variations on curls and lengths on our lovely client Meng.

Meng had a short pixie along the way and is now growing her hair out, we have been keeping track of her grow out stages, through the bob with graduation down to the ‘shag’ look. With Meng’s natural curls, her hair is best styled with Moroccan Oil curl crème twisted and diffused for a curlier look.

Angelo Seminara

One of my absolute favorite stylists, Angelo Seminara who is Artistic Director for Davine’s Product Company. Those of you who follow me, know that I always try to post as many collections from Angelo as possible. I find his work to be positively inspiring, unique and ultra creative. Here is his Games Collection for you to check out.

Excerpt taken from angeloseminara.com

‘Almost tribal in character, Angelo’s inspiration for this collection is underpinned by the tactile textures of the natural world: snakes shedding their skin, light casting diffused shapes through diaphanous fronds and leaves; fish scales, bird feathers, wood grains, slate, rock and marble striations. Combined or singular, the images capture nature’s strength in an enchanting, evocative way.’

My Favorite ‘50 Shades of Grey’ Character ~

I, like everyone else went to watch 50 shades of Grey last night ~ on opening night. Yes I read all the books and absolutely hated them. Which meant that I was  pleasantly surprised that I did not vomit while watching this movie. I’m not here to add yet another review to the other thousands out there but I really wanted to draw attention to my favorite ‘character’ in the movie that caught my attention!

From the very beginning, Anastasia Steele’s fringe (bangs) had a life of its own, I couldn’t help but notice,  it went short, and then longer and back to short again, up and down, choppy to straight, full to split, all within the 90 miles she drove from home to Seattle.

Not that I didn’t like them, in fact we (as in me and my Dekko hairdresser mates who went) were convinced clients would now be coming in asking for the Anastasia fringe. Yikes – which part? Dakota Johnson’s hairdresser Mark Townsend will be happy his client is the talk of the town, although he didn’t actually cut the fringe for the movie, sorry I cant give credit to whoever did do it.

But anyway, it must’ve been really really tough for the continuity team, I know how hard it is to keep a choppy fringe the same every time you cut it, let alone for every scene! Anyway, just for fun, here’s what I mean…

And in my humble opinion, If I were a client and wanted this fringe, I would take this picture in to show the stylist..
